Pronunciation: Allahumma Salli Ala Muhammad, Wa Alaaa Aali Muhammad, Kamaa Sal-laita Alaaa Ibrahim, Wa Alaaa Aali Ibrahim, Innaka Hamidum Majeed. Allahumma Baarik Ala Muhammad, Wa Alaaa Aali Muhammad, Kamaa Baarakta Alaaa Ibrahim, Wa Alaaa Aali Ibrahim, Innaka Hamidum Majeed.
Meaning: O Allah, bestow Your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.
Virtue: The famous companion of the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him), Hazrat Ka’ab bin Ujrah (radi Allahu anhu), narrates that once it was enquired from Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ) as to how blessings should be sent to him. The Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam replied that the blessings be said in the manner (it has been mentioned) above, that is, Durood-e-Ibrahim.
Anas ibn Malik narrates that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said : He who reads a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allah blesses him ten times, ten of his sins are forgiven, and he is increased ten times in stages. (Sunan an-Nasa'i 1297; Book 13, Hadith 119)
